You need to create a direct response. One of the most effective methods to creating affiliate commissions is to set up a simple direct response website to market your chosen affiliate program. This is called an affiliate leads response page. You want to have just one page for this site so that your visitor does not get distracted with anything else.
It should contain an opt-in page and a redirect to the affiliate sales page. This setup will allow you to

Follow up with your leads. You will need an auto responder to feed your customers high quality content that they cant wait to devour. Your content should educate and build a relationship with your prospective customers. You can create a 7 day mini e-course or a monthly newsletter. Map out a schedule for your content.
Actively promote your lead capture page. You need send to traffic to your website, without it you have no business. Dont promote for a week or two and expect to generate a massive response. Many affiliates dont promote as hard as they should. You want to get to as many targeted visitors as possible to your leads capture page. This means getting in front of as many people as possible as often as possible. You can do this with Google adwords, articles, and getting active in forums. The more your out there the better.
Affiliate marketing is a great place to start for a work at home beginner but dont get caught up in the appeal of promoting other peoples products for a commission. You have to be aware of your competition, especially if you are a beginner. You chances of success competing in an overcrowded field dominated by experienced players are going to be slim. You can succeed, but it will take you a lot of time and effort to do so.

Go for affiliate programs which give you at least 50% of the price of the product as your commission to ensure maximum returns for your efforts.
There are also some affiliate programs which have multi-tier payments, where you receive a percentage of sales made by an affiliate who signed up under you. These kind of payments are certainly a bonus.

What does it take to get started in Internet marketing? It really only takes a computer, an Internet connection, a blog, a lot of time, and a lot of effort. Steve Pavlina started with just these things and after 18 months he was making a good income that many people would be thrilled to have.
Depending on how much time and effort you put into it, you might be able to copy Steve's success. Or if you put in a little time it could take you years.
You will also need a niche to focus on and knowledge about this niche. It will be easier to fill a blog with content if you know something about the topic. It isn't impossible to develop a site about an unfamiliar topic, but it is more difficult.
Monetizing Your Blog
How can you monetize your site? To start out with there is AdSense. AdSense has no minimum requirements. Anyone can sign up for an account.
There is also Chitika and Kontera. Kontera usually requires that a member's site has at least 500,000 hits a month.
Getting 500,000 hits a month isn't that hard if you have chosen a niche that gets a lot of searches. If you are in a niche that gets 180 searches a month you might never get 500,000 hits each month. But if you are in a niche that gets 150,000 searches a month it won't be difficult to meet Kontera's requirement.
You can also sign up for affiliate programs that sell products your readers would be interested in purchasing. Visit Commission Junction and sign up for a few stores that offer affiliates a decent share of the sales.
ClickBank is another possibility for Web site monetization. They have thousands of e-books and software programs that you can promote on your site. They pay as much as 70% of the purchase price to the affiliate. Choose one or more that you feel good recommending.
Once your site starts getting more traffic and gets higher page rank there are other options for monetization as well. For instance, you can sell text links. There are people who will pay over $100 to get a text link on a site that has a page rank of 7 or higher.
You can of course also promote your own product. Find out what the people in your niche are looking for by asking the people on your opt-in list what they would like. Then, make the product or hire someone else to create it.
This product can be for any niche. It can be a software program that organizes coins for coin collectors, or an e-book that instructs antique collectors how to find rare antiques for bargain prices.

Think: Your affiliate program fortune is in your pockets-By jonathan kraft

Your affiliate program fortune is already
sitting in your pockets! You just don’t know it yet. Please allow me to
explain.
You have a 9-5, which, with the commute and
headaches, has turned into more like an 8-6. You maybe have kids, a
spouse, a dog, a car to repair, and a leaky faucet. You have yard-work,
housework, homework, and work-work.
What you understand that people are
making money online. You think that you could create a small fortune
through affiliate programs, if only you could make it fit in your
schedule. You understand some of the basic concepts of setting up a web
site. You have an idea for a site focusing on something you know a lot
about. You’re pretty familiar with making sure your META tags match page
content, and you’ve learned about getting traffic to your site. You know
that you can get traffic, because you have a unique perspective or
approach to the topic of your site. You might also at some point think
about selling some of your own products alongside the affiliate links you
have (or would like to) set up.
So, where will you find the time to run a
site, find affiliate programs, give your visitors great content to read,
and begin to create your Internet fortune?
The answer is in your thinking. Your
thinking has to help you realize that the fortune is not yet in your
wallet. The fortune is, however, already in your pockets. I’ll say that
again. The fortune is ALREADY sitting in your pockets.
How can your fortune be in your pockets?
Your fortune is in the pockets of TIME you have. You have ten minutes
here, and twenty minutes there. You have time while the pot is on the
stove boiling water, and you have time while you’re waiting for your kids
at their soccer practice.
You have pockets of time, and if you ever
want to have more than just pockets of time, you must learn to use the
pockets you do have more effectively, starting today.
This has as much to do with planning your
life as it does building a successful and income-producing web site. You
can take this skill and apply it all over the place for anything you want
to accomplish.
So how can you use your pockets effectively?
Decide
Make a decision that you are going to work on this project for at least 15
minutes each day, no matter what (you can take two days/week off). You
can work more than that, but you must work at least 15 minutes every day
on your site. Decide that you are going to make this site become reality
within 6 months. (Be realistic with yourself. If you’re only working 15
minutes/day, 6 months is a realistic goal.
Take action in the right direction
Begin with the end in mind. You have heard this before, but maybe you’ve
never applied it. I’m saying to you now that you should read this
article, and then apply the principle. Begin with the end in mind. Take
15 minutes/day for the next 5 days. Get your plan on paper. Figure out
what you want your site to look like. Look at the general layout. Keep
it simple, so that you can design it, or explain to someone else how to
design it. Lay out so that anyone can easily navigate to any page of the
site from any other part of the site. Put it on paper first. Have
friends (and even strangers if you like) review your site plan. Ask for
their honest feedback. Don’t be offended if they tell you that you might
try changing some things. Take what works and leave out what doesn’t.
Decide on a color scheme. Color is very important in marketing products.
Here is the hazard of not beginning with the
end in mind: You will spend hours of time working on completely unrelated
projects, surfing the Internet, and reviewing affiliate programs which
will not fit into the layout of your site. (Not having a layout for your
site would be like climbing a ladder that you couldn’t see the top of, but
you thought would lead somewhere good, only to realize once you reached
the top that your ladder wasn’t even leaning against the right wall.)
Start with the big picture of what you want your site to look like, and
work from that plan.
15 per day
Working on it 15 minutes/day, it probably will take 6 months to put
together a quality site, so break down the larger project into 15 minute
pieces. Work the plan and the design backwards. A good-sized site with
lots of content could be about 100 pages. Let’s say you’re building a
site about, oh, I don’t know… let’s say baseball bats. (It’s an example
for purposes of this article.
Your site might be broken up into 4 sections
like:
History of Baseball batsTypes of baseball bats
The baseball bats of famous players
Reviews and places to buy baseball bats
online
Each of these sections might have 22-25
pages each. So here’s how you break it down:
Every day, you’re going to create the content for 1 page in the History
section
Month 2:
Every day, you’re going to create the content for 1 page in the Types
section
...and so on.
At this point, all you have done is taken 15
minutes/day to write a short article about some aspect of the larger
section. Anyone can find or make 15 minutes of time every day, if this is
truly something that they want to do.
At the end of four months, writing 1
page/day, you will have written between 80-100 pages worth of content for
your site.
Now you might be thinking that you don’t
have 100 pages worth of content to write. That’s fine. Take the first
two months, develop a 35-50 page site, and then spend 15 minutes/day
researching, finding affiliate programs, and getting relevant links into
your site. Just use your pockets of time effectively.
#4. Bring it all together
You’re now in month 5, and you’re realizing how valuable your pockets
really are, because you’ve created a great site about baseball bats (or
whatever you want to create a site about), and you’ve done it in the
pockets of time you had. Now it’s time to take 15 minutes/day, and make
sure everything is working right, that your pages are aesthetically
pleasing, and that people can get around easily on your site. You will
also be using these 15 minutes/day to find affiliate programs for your
chosen topic, add the links to your site, make sure everything is running
well, and then get your site up online.
#5. Continue the process
In month 6, getting traffic to your site will be where you spend your
15 minutes every day. (How to get links and what kinds of sites you trade
links with will be reserved for another time, but continue the pocket
principle.
Use the pockets of time you have, and rather
than watching someone else on TV build their dream, start building your
own dream through online business. You can do it if you realize that you
do have small pockets of time, and then use the time in your pockets. If
you’re willing to do the work to make it happen, and are disciplined
enough to build pages and write content no matter what, you will be
successful. In short, you have got to start making your pockets more
valuable.

In month 6, getting traffic to your site will be where you spend your
15 minutes every day. (How to get links and what kinds of sites you trade
links with will be reserved for another time, but continue the pocket
principle.
Use the pockets of time you have, and rather
than watching someone else on TV build their dream, start building your
own dream through online business. You can do it if you realize that you
do have small pockets of time, and then use the time in your pockets. If
you’re willing to do the work to make it happen, and are disciplined
enough to build pages and write content no matter what, you will be
successful. In short, you have got to start making your pockets more
valuable.

that you should consider when looking for a good web host.
Free or Paid?
For a first (or practice) site, or for a personal site, free hosting
can be a good solution. You will almost certainly have to put up with some
ads on your site, you cannot expect too much in the way of support, and there
will usually be major restrictions on using scripts, on bandwidth, on
actual page content, and on disk space. Having said that, many free hosts
have good online support, or forums, where you will find other users
willing to help. You may also find that the servers tend to be slow at
times which will affect users of your site.

For business sites, free hosting is really
not an option. This is partly because of the ads that will appear on your
site, over which you have little control. It is also partly because

Michael Cheney, one of the most-respected names in Internet marketing, has been online since 1995 and is the man behind the 6-Figure launches of AdSense Videos and 11 Days To List Profits. A. Hey no problem. Good to be here.
Q. We all know that traffic is important but could you just explain a bit about traffic for the beginners out there?
A. Sure. Traffic is the lifeblood of any business online. Without it you just die. We all know that. But what a lot of us don't realize is that just like everything else on the Internet traffic changes very quickly. That is, the methods of getting traffic are changing all the time and that's where people get caught out.
Q. What do you mean by "caught out"?
A. Well people fall into the trap of thinking that just because they know one or two traffic generation methods that they are some sort of traffic master. In reality just because you know how to start a pay per click campaign or a little bit about search engines doesn't make you anywhere near a traffic expert. I'm trying to spread the word that there is a massive array of traffic tactics that most people aren't even aware of, let alone using or mastering.
Q. Can you give us some examples?
A. Sure. Offline for example. You might immediately think that getting traffic is a purely online activity but the truth of the matter is that there are lots of things you can be doing offline to get people into your website. And it's usually these sorts of areas that are being under-utilized and therefore there is less competition for that traffic as well.
Q. So by offline you mean advertising offline?
A. Not necessarily. That is one method, yes, but I'm thinking of more creative ways to get people into your website. It all comes down to the fact that having asked people on my list it came as no surprise that most people want to know about free rather than paid traffic sources. I've had to become an expert in free ways of getting traffic in my time online.
Q. What do you mean - I thought you were running a successful online business with lots of cash flow?
A. I am. But it's not always been this way. When I first started out in 1995 I had nothing. No money to play with. Just my own initiative and imagination.
Q. So are you saying you're against paying for traffic online?
A. No. No I'm not saying that at all. What I'm saying is that, especially when you first start out, you always want to focus on the free methods. You get the traffic in for free, make some sales and then you can reinvest some of that money into paid methods of getting traffic. This speeds up the process.
Q. So what particular offline methods are you referring to - can you give us some examples?
A. There's one tactic I used that costs nothing to implement, is relatively quick and ended up getting me thousands and thousands of targeted visitors into my websites. When I've shared this tactic with other marketers at seminars they've started laughing and slapping their foreheads when they saw how easy it was. They were also embarrassed that they had failed to use this tactic. It was quite amusing.
Q. So are you going to tell us what this method is?
A. No! (laughs) It's in my course! I truly believe in rewarding those people that are most eager to learn so instead of giving away all my traffic tactics in interviews like this I've put some of them in an E-Book I've written. It is free though if people want to get it.

Making Public Service Ads Serve You

Making huge sums of money with AdSense isn't brain surgery. You simply have to know what you're doing. If you know which types of ads to choose, where to place them on the page and how to use Google's options to design them so that they get the maximum number of click-throughs, you should find your site earning heaps of money very quickly.
But things can go wrong. Revenues can be disappointing, clicks non-existent and pages designed to put off users instead of encourage them to check out your advertisers. You know when one of the worst things possible has gone wrong when, instead of seeing ads on your page, you get public service ads. These turn up when Google doesn't recognize your keywords or can't find a suitable ad to put on your Web page. Instead of showing a blank box, it puts up ads for all sorts of charities, none of which you choose - and none of which earn you revenue.
You might like the idea of your site working for charity. But you might like it better if your site worked for you and you decided how much of that revenue to give to the charities you choose. That's why smart AdSense subscribers - the ones who understand how AdSense works and make giant revenues from it - make sure that they have alternatives set up to stop their sites being used to advertise Google's favorite charities.
There are lots of different ways you can do that. For example, you could create your own pseudo-AdSense ads and use those as alternate URLs to promote your other sites. Or you could use one of the several companies that will use that space to give you targeted paying ads.
There's nothing mean about using these strategies. The fact that Google makes it possible to use them shows that they understand that your space is for you not for them - and that you should earn from it.
With a little bit of reading, you'll find that it's easy to create a website that always serves high-paying AdSense ads. But even the smartest AdSense users make sure that they've got insurance should something go wrong. It's easy to do and your revenues deserve it.

But things can go wrong. Revenues can be disappointing, clicks non-existent and pages designed to put off users instead of encourage them to check out your advertisers. You know when one of the worst things possible has gone wrong when, instead of seeing ads on your page, you get public service ads. These turn up when Google doesn't recognize your keywords or can't find a suitable ad to put on your Web page. Instead of showing a blank box, it puts up ads for all sorts of charities, none of which you choose - and none of which earn you revenue.
You might like the idea of your site working for charity. But you might like it better if your site worked for you and you decided how much of that revenue to give to the charities you choose. That's why smart AdSense subscribers - the ones who understand how AdSense works and make giant revenues from it - make sure that they have alternatives set up to stop their sites being used to advertise Google's favorite charities.
There are lots of different ways you can do that. For example, you could create your own pseudo-AdSense ads and use those as alternate URLs to promote your other sites. Or you could use one of the several companies that will use that space to give you targeted paying ads.
There's nothing mean about using these strategies. The fact that Google makes it possible to use them shows that they understand that your space is for you not for them - and that you should earn from it.
With a little bit of reading, you'll find that it's easy to create a website that always serves high-paying AdSense ads. But even the smartest AdSense users make sure that they've got insurance should something go wrong. It's easy to do and your revenues deserve it.

One of the best things about making money on AdSense is that anyone can do it - and with just about any type of website. You don't have to own a mini-Amazon or build a budding Ebay to make big stacks of cash on the Internet; you just have to have a site that attracts users.

A lot of people who have built a website specifically to make money worry about putting ads on their sites. They're concerned that people might be put off buying if their browsing is interrupted by intrusive ads.

Great Content - The Secret Of High AdSense Revenues

There are two ways to think about AdSense: you can think of it as a way to use your website to make money; and you can think of it as a way to make money with a website.
What's the difference?
The difference is in the content. In the first case, you already have a website and you simply put AdSense on the page to turn it into cash. You might change the content a little to influence the ads and you could make sure that you include the best keywords to bring you the highest revenues. You should certainly play with the way the ads look on the page to make them attractive and unobtrusive - and there's a huge range of different strategies you can use to do that.
Ultimately though, the content is there already. You're just using AdSense to turn the content you're going to create anyway into money - and you're going to use AdSense secrets to make those revenues as high as possible.
But lots of people also want to build a website from scratch for the sole purpose of cashing in on all the money available through AdSense. There's nothing wrong with that - provided the content is high quality.
This is crucial. Google doesn't take kindly to sites packed with keywords and all sorts of other garbage just to provide a space to put up an AdSense unit. There's a good chance they won't approve the site, and little chance, even if they did, that you'd get any click-throughs.
But that doesn't mean you have to really bust a gut to create the sort of website that brings you a small fortune in AdSense revenues. In my book, Google AdSense Secrets, I discuss in detail a number of different methods that you can use to create great content quickly and easily. Some of these methods cost a little money; some are completely free and still give you outstanding content. Whichever method you use though the important to remember is that your site has to have real content that people will genuinely enjoy reading. There's no point in trying to cut corners in creating content - and absolutely no revenue to gain.

5 Ways To Internet Business Success-Never Compromise
Have you tried to imagine building a house with a plain old hammer and nails in this day and age of high power tools? AdSense delivers great click-throughs and high revenues for one reason: the ads are targeted to what the user wants. Google's robot picks out keywords on your page, gets a grip on what your website is about and delivers links that take users to sites that interest them.
That's great news... up to a point. As much as you want your users to click on ads that look interesting, you might not want to trust to a robot to pick those ads - and you might prefer to have ads on your page that pay the highest amount possible for each click.
But you don't get the choice. You can do lots of things to improve your AdSense revenue, from selecting the layout of your ad unit to choosing the color and size of the font, but one thing you can't do is slip into Google's database and choose the ads. If you could do that, no one would ever choose the low-paying ads.
That doesn't mean you can't do anything at all though. The fact is, some smart publishers have been noticing all sorts of interesting results after playing with their HTML code and changing some of the text on their Web page. And some of those results have been very surprising indeed.
For example, some publishers have found that placing keywords in certain positions on the page can have an immediate effect on the ads served. The owner of a site about recreation vehicles then would be able to do a little research online to find the highest paying keywords in his area and then - if he knew where those hotspots were - he could place those keywords in the right areas on the page. In addition to the usual ads about camper vans and RV's that his site would receive, the publisher could be certain that at least one of the ads was the highest paying possible. That's the sort of knowledge that's worth money in your pocket.
Why some areas of a Web page should be more important than others is a mystery well kept by Google's programmers. But some of Google's ad secrets are leaking out - and they're being snapped up by smart publishers who understand that knowledge and strategy are the key to massive AdSense revenues.

Why some areas of a Web page should be more important than others is a mystery well kept by Google's programmers. But some of Google's ad secrets are leaking out - and they're being snapped up by smart publishers who understand that knowledge and strategy are the key to massive AdSense revenues.

Adlink Units: Are They Worth It?

When Google first launched AdSense, there was some skepticism from publishers. As much as most people were blown away by the idea of ads that were targeted to the content of a Web page there was the question of whether users, used to banners and skyscrapers, would click on something that looked so different.
Boy, were those doubters wrong! AdSense has more than proved its worth to advertisers, users and publishers.
A similar sense of skepticism greeted Google's launch of AdLink units. With nothing more than a list of links (which then lead to the ads), these units contain even less information than a traditional AdSense unit. And the user has to click twice before the publisher gets paid. That makes them sound about as welcoming as a winter barbeque in Siberia.
It took a while for publishers to discover that actually AdLink units weren't as bad as they looked, and that with a smart bit of positioning they could actually take advantage of the way some pages are laid out. In fact, for some designs, they were able to reach parts that other AdSense units just couldn't reach!
And best of all, publishers quickly discovered that once someone clicked on an AdLink unit, they would almost always click on the ad that followed. That did their revenues the world of good and removed the two-click doubt.
The old AdLink units then were effective, but fairly limited. They were great if you knew the one or two places on the page to use them but not so good if you didn't. Recently though, Google has launched horizontal AdLink units that have taken these ads into a whole new realm. Because they fit neatly across a page they're useful for a much broader range of page designs and are much more flexible. On the other hand though, they're now competing for space directly with the traditional ad units, making it even harder for publishers to figure out which ads to place where.
Is all this good news for publishers or bad news?
It's great news for savvy publishers who have more tools to maximize their AdSense revenues (and know what to do with those tools) but it's bad news for people who don't make the effort to learn how use AdSense - and now have more ways to miss out.
